Must-see Spots to Visit When Visiting Ōi Town
Inoue Sake Brewery
A brewery that was established in 1789. The brewery actively exports the sake abroad too and has exported Japanese sake to Europe since around 50 years ago. Their famous brand is “Hakoneyama”. The brewery also organizes tours, but they require a reservation to be made over one month in advance. There is no fee, and you can also try some of their sake. We recommend the tour especially to those who want to know about the process of making Japanese sake in more detail.

A place close to the ticket gate, where bottle gourds were grown to provide sunshade, became famous, and ever since then, the station has earned the nickname “bottle gourd station”. Using this as an opportunity, Ōi Town started to utilize bottle gourds to revitalize the town. You can see bottle gourds everywhere in the town.
